Recently cited by travel guide lonelyplanet.com as one of the Top 10 best bike rides in the world, with many cycle paths and a spectacular coastal route, the Toy Trust event is open to all and is not a race. Participants can take up to nine hours if they wish and visit cafes and pubs along the way.
Nick Austin, Toy Trust Chair, said: “Our goal is to raise over £100,000 via sponsorship… All you need is a bike, a reasonable level of fitness, a sense of adventure and a big heart!”
Any company or individual interested in taking part should register with Matt Jones at the BTHA; email@example.com. The event is strictly limited to 120 places and the registration fee will be £75 each, which will include event entry, commemorative polo shirt and evening celebration meal and disco. A special Toy Trust hotel rate has been negotiated with the 4* Lakeside Hotel and Spa at Wootton Bridge on the Isle of Wight.
