Our Have You Considered features had at their heart the desire to inform toy retailers about product categories they might not have previously thought about stocking, or who needed some gentle persuasion. So popular were their occasional appearances in the main issues of Toy World that we decided to produce a collection of them in one convenient supplement. This is the first of a planned series of supplements, and our first one sees us taking an in-depth look at nine separate product categories including Stationery, Posters, Children’s Bedrooms, Masks, Balloons and Greetings Cards, Books, Bags, Travel Products and Puppets.

We want you to get as excited about these product categories as we have, so not only have we gone to suppliers who already know the ins and outs of their toy accounts, we’ve also spoken to newcomers to the UK toy market who bring with them new and innovative offerings. And we’re not just presenting the products and leaving you to it. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to try out new categories and make the most of them. So we’ve spoken to experienced suppliers and toy retailers themselves on everything from what’s driving sales in each category, the options available across generic and licensed lines and the exciting new innovations coming through, through to the nitty gritty bits like the sort of margins you can expect to make and the many different POS options and merchandising ideas out there. And if there’s anything in particular that a supplier can do to offer a more bespoke service, we’re making sure you get to hear about it.

We truly hope you enjoy the supplement, so pop the kettle on and find yourself a comfy chair – you may be here a while…
