The most recent episode of The Apprentice saw independent toy shop Toys ‘n’ Trends receive a surprise visit from some of the show’s candidates.

Toys-n-Trends-480The episode, which was filmed in April by the BBC, showed shop owner Helen Bellenie sell an inflatable boat to the boys team, who went on to win the challenge.

Both teams were instructed to find a list of items in Dover and Calais, where they had to use their negotiation skills to get the best possible price.

The boys came across Toys ‘n’ Trends, which is based in Tankerton in Kent, in their search for an inflatable boat.

“The visit was a complete surprise,” said Helen. “They called the store before to check whether we had a boat in stock, but they didn’t admit who they were or what they were filming for. We figured it out later on.”

The candidates were left to decide between two boats, but eventually bought the cheaper one for £10, a discount from £15.

“They got a bargain from me,” Helen admitted. “It was really good fun. The boys were all very polite and we were all pleased with how they did in the end.”
