The seminar will cover the regulatory changes affecting the toy sector as well as the increasing emphasis on sustainability.
Taking place on the 17th July from 10am until 3.30pm, topics will include: Regulatory updates for the international markets; Trends in recall and enforcement activity; Sustainable toys: challenges and opportunities; and a panel discussion on the theme of sustainability.
The seminar speakers are Richard Smart and Adrian Wain. Richard is a key account manager with UL providing technical and service support for key global clients and supporting the UK business development team. Richard has worked in the toy and consumer products industry for over 20 years, starting in the laboratory and then as a retail QA Manager within Toys R Us. He has a wide knowledge of legislation and requirements applicable to
toys and associated children’s products and experience working with manufacturers and enforcement authorities.
Adrian Wain is a senior sustainability consultant for UL Environment & Sustainability, focused on the development of low carbon and circular economies. He supports UL’s efforts to establish tools that enable transitions to circular economies in transparent, sustainable and safe ways. Prior to joining UL Adrian worked for Accenture Strategy where he specialised in sustainability strategy within consumer goods and manufacturing.
