Universal ramps up Jurassic World excitement with new short

Published on: 26th November 2021

Jurassic World Dominion: Prologue features new dinosaurs and gives viewers a taste of what’s to come from the third instalment of the Jurassic World franchise.

Jurassic World Dominion, the long-awaited third and final film in Colin Trevorrow’s blockbuster revival franchise arrives in cinemas around the globe from June 2022. Ahead of its release, Universal Brand Development has been hard at work for the last two years maintaining Jurassic World as the definitive dinosaur brand, creating new products, retail programmes, games and digital content, plus new seasons of the popular Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous animated series.

Now, the studio has unveiled a jaw-dropping new five-and-a-half-minute short, much to the delight and excitement of fans. The Prologue to Jurassic World Dominion, directed by Dominion director and co-writer Colin Trevorrow, takes audiences back 65m years into the past to experience the world before humans existed – and offers a glimpse of a world in which dinosaurs are living among us.

Separate from the film, The Prologue features seven new, never-before-seen species of dinosaurs created by the legendary Industrial Light & Magic, which has created visual effects for every Jurassic film, including Jurassic World Dominion.

Dominion welcomes back Laura Dern, who portrayed Dr. Ellie Sattler in the earlier Jurassic Park film trilogy, as well as Sam Neil (Dr Alan Grant), Jeff Goldblum (Ian Malcolm), and B.D. Wong (Henry Wu) alongside newer cast members Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas-Howard. The movie follows on from the events of Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, which saw a dinosaur rescue attempt turn into a disastrous private auction, during which many of the animals escaped into the surrounding, human-populated area.
