The industry has seen a rise of 7.5% in the first half of 2016.

ustoys480The results are taken from the latest study from NPD, in which it explains that the toy industry may increase 7%, or $1.4bn, for the year.

Juli Lennet, vice-president of NPD for the toy sector, commented: “I expect to see continued growth for the US toy industry for the remainder of 2016, and if it reaches 7% for year-end that would be the fastest growth of the US toy market since 1999.”

Star Wars has been one of the main properties responsible for the rise, with an increase of 200% in toy sales during June.
