Ticket holders can attend workshops, talks and demonstrations on the model horse hobby, whilst meeting likeminded new friends. Visitors can paint their own model, try their hand at sculpting and tack making, meet artists from the model horse world and see the real horses that inspire them.
Audiences will also get a chance to see the running of the National Stud from behind the scenes. The Stud is the home of British Thoroughbred racing and has many residents, including the 2004 Grand National Winner ‘Amberleigh House’.
This event will host the largest gathering of model horses in one place, with over 3,000 available from the Utterly Horses retail store alone. Shoppers can visit the vintage section and purchase exclusive limited edition models that have been produced just for the festival.
An Auction and Quiz Night on the Saturday will feature the chance to bid for one-of-a-kind models. The auction will help raise funds for charities that do valuable work in the UK and overseas. Chosen charities this year include Riding for the Disabled, Remus and the Brooke Hospital.
Becky Benfield, owner of Utterly Horses and organiser of the festival, said: “We have visitors travelling far and wide to attend our event, the furthest being the USA and Norway. We have pulled out all the stops to make it memorable for all visitors, from personalised goody bags on arrival and tartan picnic blankets for that lunchtime break to specially commissioned model horses.”
Tickets for the event are £60 for all three days or £30 for a single day.
