Vivid to release Moshi Monster ‘App-Monsters’

Published on: 25th January 2012

Vivid has uveiled its range of App Monsters that bring together smartphone applications and its  Moshi Monsters toy range.

Smartphones can be slipped into a Moshi plush product whilst the screen displays an animated face of a Moshi character. The app can release various Moshi Monsters characters including Poppet, Katsuma, Furi and Luvi. The app will be released for download onto smartphones into summer

Other App Monsters functions include playing music, poking their eyes to make them giggle, putting them to sleep, and turning them into a superhero.

Emma Weber, licensing and marketing director at Vivid said: “Reflecting the increase in the number of children who own or who have access to smartphones, the growing trend towards toys which can interact with downloadable apps has had a major impact on the toy industry. There is a natural affinity with the market leading Moshi brand and this new technology which can only serve to enhance and enrich the play elements in the new toys launching this year.”
