Hasbro has announced that Weebles will hit shelves through a licensing collaboration with Character Options, and Spirograph will be re-introduced by Goldfish and Bison throughout Europe.Weeble300

Character Options will launch Weebles in Autumn 2013 throughout the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy and Australia. Goldfish and Bison has signed to re-introduce the classic arts and crafts brand, Spirograph, throughout Europe in 2014. Spirograph will re-emerge featuring a selection of colored pens and pencils and 3D glasses to view drawings in a new way.

James Walker, vice president of licensing, Europe, at Hasbro, said: “The re-launch of Weebles and Spirograph will transport millions of adults, many of whom are now parents, back to their childhood. We are very excited to be working with Character Options and Goldfish and Bison to introduce these beloved play experiences. Each have decades of rich brand heritage we can share with a new global generation of children.”

The new Weebles toy range by Character Options will stay true to the ‘Weebles wobble but they don’t fall down!” promise, but will be re-shaped with a more rounded base and molded body shape. Featuring Entertainment’s One’s (eOne’s) Peppa Pig, her brother George and friends, the items will include character figures, a car, a train, and feature playsets.

Jon Diver, joint managing director of Character Group, commented: “Our debut range of Peppa Pig Weebles is absolutely perfect for our launch as it combines one of most loved character licences with a brand that is already highly regarded and recognised by the principle buyer – the parents. What’s more, in creating this collection we have also been able to extend the appeal of our Peppa Pig range to a wider and younger audience without diluting the sales potential of our current master toy collection.”
