Winner crowned at 2013’s Perudo Championship

The accolade of ‘Perudo champion’ was awarded on Monday to Dan Reade following hours of skillful bluffing at the liar dice game’s annual Championship.PerudoChamp300

Dan was awarded the prize at the 24th Perudo Championship hosted by Konnie Huq and held at The Groucho Club in Soho. The event provided its usual dose of fun, tension, excitement and anticipation as Cosmo Fry, the inventor of Perudo, along with previous winners, celebrities and buyers, all bluffed their way through this popular and competitive game. Participants used cunning strategies in their bid to be the Perudo champ but only Dan, who began playing Perudo around 15 years ago at university and usually plays against just one opponent, had what it took to become this year’s champion.

Richard Wells, sales director at Paul Lamond Games, said: “True to form, last night’s event was fast-paced, fun and full of nail biting tension and Dan did exceedingly well to battle it out to become the winner. We’re delighted that in its 24th year, the Perudo championships are more popular than ever and that the game still evokes such passion and competitiveness along with the usual dose of bluff, counterbluff and hilarity.”
