Big Potato to give away 2,000 mini-games at Spiel Essen

Published on: 24th October 2018

The London-based board games company will be giving away free mini-games to promote new release Don’t Get Got.

This year, to promote its brand new party game Don’t Get Got, Big Potato will be giving out 2,000 free mini-games over the course of Spiel Essen.

Don’t Get Got is a secret missions party game where each player gets given six secret missions. The first player to complete three wins. However, this isn’t a typical sitdown-at-a-table sort of game; it’s designed to run in the background, which means it can be played anywhere – at home, on holiday, in the office or at a gaming convention. No matter where they are or what they’re doing, players will always need to keep their wits about them, because there’s no telling what the other players might be planning.

The mini-games available at Essen will contain customised cards to give players a completely exclusive version of the game. All the missions are designed to be played at the show, during the show. The full version of the game will contain over 180 different missions and will be on sale for €20 at the stand, available in both English and German.

Emmanuelle de Lestapis, Big Potato’s head of international sales, spoke of her excitement for the German edition of Don’t Get Got and meeting new distributors: “This is the first time we’ve ever sold a game in another language at Essen, so I hope it’s received well by the German native speakers. Spiel Essen is such an important show for us – it’s a great opportunity to catch up with existing distributors and to also meet new ones.”

Alongside Don’t Get Got, Big Potato will also be selling Reiner Knizia’s Clickbait. Clickbait is a family party game for ages 14+ and is all about writing attention-grabbing slogans for some of the most ridiculous products that the internet has to offer. Product examples include Unicorn Jerky, Giant Family Slippers and Flamethrowing For Kids: A Step-ByStep Guide.
