ChiTAG releases holiday gift guide

Published on: 14th November 2018

The guide features the 33 best toys and games for the holidays and honours the people who invented them.

The Chicago Toy and Game Group, known for celebrating the power of play, innovation and the people behind the toys and games people love, has released a holiday gift guide featuring nominees from its annual Toy and Game Innovation Awards, also known as the TAGIEs.

The 11th annual TAGIEs take place on Friday, 16th November at a gala and ceremony at Navy Pier as part of ChiTAG week. The evening honours and awards the best of the best in the toy and game industry.

As Tim Walsh, author, game designer and filmmaker and Fearless Leader of the Playmakers said, “If you sell a million songs, you are on the cover of Rolling Stone. A million books, the New York Best Sellers list. But if you’ve sold over 80 million Jengas as Leslie Scott has, no one knows who you are.” Mary Couzin, CEO and Founder of the Chicago Toy and Game Group wants to change all of that. She said, “Toy and game inventors are some of the most creative people you’ll ever meet. They deserve this special recognition.”

This year’s holiday guide features the inventors behind some of the season’s hottest toys and games and some of the biggest brand names in the industry including Goliath, PlayMonster, Ravensburger, Mattel, Hasbro, Educational Insights, Spin Master, Moose Toys, Fisher Price, Crayola, WowWee, KD Group, Just Play and more.
