A Hasbro branded water park is to open in Malaysia, as part of Meridian Berhad’s flagship Malaysia Tourism City (MTC) project. The 20 acre Hasbro water park will offer branded experiences for some of the most iconic names in the company’s portfolio, including Nerf, My Little Pony and Monopoly.

Dato’ Seth, the newly emerged major shareholder of Meridian, aims to establish MTC as the leading regional tourist destination in the Malaysian state of Melaka. The preliminary plan for land use will be allocated for leisure & entertainment, commercial, retail, residential and other public uses. MTC will be built on land occupying some 600 acres in total in the state constituency of Kuala Linggi.

Dato’ Seth stated: “Our ultimate goal for MTC is to establish a unique position that reflects MTC as ‘the destination’, that prolongs tourists’ average length of stay. We will be entering a relationship with Hasbro to develop the world’s first themed water park based on their beloved brands, which will be an iconic anchor attraction at the heart of the MTC master plan. The water park will be 20 acres in size, offering a wide range of new rides that are not available in other parks in Malaysia, by weaving in exclusive IP rights.”
