Nominations open for 15th annual Wonder Women Awards

Published on: 28th August 2018

The awards honour top female executives and entrepreneurs in toys, licensing and entertainment.

Until 31st October, anyone may nominate a woman who has made an impact in toys, licensing or entertainment. This year’s categories include Creator/Inventor, Licensing, Manufacturing, Marketing/PR, Sales, Social Responsibility and Rising Star.

Award winners will be announced at WIT’s annual Wonder Women Awards Gala, on Sunday 17th February 2019, coinciding with the New York International Toy Fair.

Finalists will be announced in late November, determined by a vote of the WIT Board of Directors, Advisory Board, Chapter Chairs and the WIT Nominations Committee, based on the candidate’s achievements and accomplishments.

Final voting for the winners will begin mid-December and will be conducted by WIT members, board members and key industry influencers.

“So many women in toys, licensing and entertainment are true gamechangers, exceptionally strong role models, and making their mark in our industry,” said Gala Co-Chairs Genna Rosenberg, Janice Ross and Jennifer Caveza. “We’re excited to continue the tradition of recognizing and celebrating these trailblazers for their tremendous talents and contributions at next year’s Gala.”

Karen Kilpatrick, Chair of the Nominations Committee added, “Let the nominating begin. There is such extraordinary talent in our industry, and each year the WIT Community proudly puts the spotlight on our most commendable leaders. We can’t wait to see the deserving candidates of this year’s class.”

Nominations can be made at www.WomenInToys.com, where tickets to the 2019 Awards Gala are also available for purchase.

WIT would like to show its appreciation to Mattel, Nickelodeon, Disney, Spin Master, Hasbro, PlayMonster, Jazwares, The Bandai Foundation, and the many sponsors who help contribute to the success of the Wonder Women Gala. Proceeds from the Gala are used to fund scholarships, develop and maintain a full calendar of programmes, networking events and support initiatives for WIT’s members and its community.
