Space Enterprises, licensing agent for top pre-school property The Hive, has announced that the animation has buzzed to the top of the charts in Australia, where the Mediaweek figures for last Wednesday recorded it as the most watched children’s programme in Australia.
The Hive is shown on ABC2 in Australia and the figures show that not only is it the most popular kids show across all channels, but also the second most popular digital show across all genres, with only Neighbours holding it off the top spot.
This represents the latest success for the hit cartoon, produced by Monumental Productions, Lupus Films and DQ Entertainment, and follows the fortunes of the happy, friendly and extremely cute Bee family, who live together in Honeybee Hive. The Hive is also doing very well on ITV in the UK, whilst The Walt Disney Company EMEA has picked up the show in over 150 countries and is recording continuously high ratings
Global success has led to a wide range of licensees signing up, including Mookie Toys for Master Toy, EMI Publishing, Moonpig, Blues Clothing, Jupiter Toys and Aykroyds TDP, and licensed products will soon launch across Australia.

This is particularly good news as licensed merchandise is set to hit Australian shelves soon, where we are certain it will tap into the show’s huge popularity and record equally impressive sales figures.”
