The Hive secures new broadcasters

The Hive has announced a number of new terrestrial broadcasters, securing deals with Rai Yo Yo in Italy, TSR in Switzerland, Medicorp in Singapore, TVNZ in New Zealand, Trevano Pictures in Ukraine, and Prava in Serbia.the_hive300

Produced by Monumental Productions, Lupus Films and DQ Entertainment, The Hive is already a ratings success with Disney Junior in the UK, the US and in over 150 other countries. The series is also topping the charts with various broadcasters such as ABC Australia, and YLE Finland. Cinedigm DVDs are launching in major stores in the US this holiday period and early next year.

Sandrine Pechels de Saint Sardos, vice president sales at Bejuba!, said: “Seeing the terrestrial broadcasters jump on board is testament to the enduring charm and shelf life this series has. The characters in the Hive are so entertaining, the scenes are so colourful, and Bridget Hurst’s scripts are outstanding.”

In the last few months Space Enterprises has brought on board Ravensburger for jigsaws and puzzles, Igloo Books for publishing, Studio Anne Carlton for fridge magnets and Lifeplan for The Hive-branded honey. Other existing UK partners include Mookie for master toy and plush, Avanquest for interactive, EMI Publishing, Blues Clothing, Jupiter Toys, and Aykroyds TDP, whilst LeapFrog features The Hive content on its LeapPad tablet and Leapster console. A wide range of product has gone into retail this Q4 in the UK, Australia and South Africa. The rest of Europe and Latin America are expected to follow early in 2014. At the same time JLG has recently announced a range of early deals for the US.
