The licence will cover both metal and plastic manufactured items in addition to the Worlds Apart’s current agreement for MDF character beds.

The new agreement will allow Worlds Apart to cover production of beds at all price points through high volume entry level products through to the more premium, feature-led MDF beds that Worlds Apart has become synonymous for.

Lucy Wynn Jones, Worlds Apart’s head of licensing said: “We are very excited to have this opportunity and we believe we can significantly enhance Disney’s offering of character beds in terms of design, features and quality, giving retailers more choice and stronger selling propositions at all levels of the market.

“Our excellent relationships with both Disney and retailers will help cement a more fluid process through the design and manufacture process at the volume production end. This will allow us to provide bespoke and cost-effective options for volume orders offering retailers more favourable margins as well as enhancing the sales proposition.”

Design and manufacture is already underway, and some designs will incorporate both metal and MDF components offering a range of unique product enhancements. Products will include Toy Story, Minnie Mouse, Disney Princes and Cars character beds. First deliveries of the new products will commence from Spring 2014.
