Wow! Stuff awarded for innovation

Wow! Stuff has announced that Richard North, managing director, accepted the Ernst & Young award for innovation at the Midlands and North regional finals of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards.

Richard said: “I’m over the moon to be winning such an award, as this is exactly what we try to achieve as a business. Innovation is at the top of our business strategy, that we’ve nicknamed the Wow! Stuff way, so this makes me proud of the amazing team we have, who are behind all the innovative toys that we release year on year.”

Among the company’s well-known items are Dave the Funky Shoulder Monkey, Air Swimmers, and My Keepon. Coming this year are the Combat Creatures, Attacknids, among many others.

The judges said: “A true entrepreneur, very innovative. Turnaround from gifts to toys, Richard bought the business out of administration. His research and development team are all scientists and make great toys. He understood the challenges ahead, and established a global network with some of the biggest toy retailers in the world. A true entrepreneur.”

The award ceremony took place on June 19th 2012 at the Hyatt Hotel in Birmingham.
