As the company’s first major retail partner, WHSmith will stock a range of Yoto products in select High Street stores.
Yoto, the audio platform for kids behind the critically acclaimed and award-winning Yoto Player, has announced its first major in-store launch with WHSmith. Available across 75 WHSmith High Street stores nationwide, the launch of Yoto Player and accessories in bricks and mortar stores follows on from the brand’s current online retail success with www.whsmith.co.uk.
As the first major retail partner with Yoto, WHSmith will lead the charge in bringing the Yoto Player and audio stories, music and more, closer to families nationwide. The launch aims to encourage and inspire off-screen storytime for children and highlight the educational and creative benefits of a hybrid of audio and physical books. Customers can expect to find a substantial range of Yoto products in select WHSmith High Street stores across England, Wales, Scotland and the Isle of Man.
Along with the Yoto Player, WHSmith is also stocking Yoto content cards. Appealing to families and education experts, cards include: The Gruffalo and Friends, Zog and Friends, The Rainbow Fairies, Roald Dahl classics and Disney stories. WHSmith will also be stocking a selection of Yoto Player accessories, including the Adventure Jacket, which protects the Player from small knocks and bumps.
The Yoto Player, accessories and content cards also continue to feature on WHSmith’s online site, and are available for both click & collect and home delivery.
Ben Drury, CEO and founder of Yoto, said: “The team at Yoto and I are thrilled to be working with a nationwide partner as well-renowned and loved as WHSmith for our first major in-store launch. We’re excited to be partnering with the talented team at a retail brand with a strong history of championing children’s literacy and bringing stories and music to all children. Having a physical presence in stores across the UK will help make it even easier for families everywhere to see and purchase a range of Yoto products, including our Yoto Player, Adventure Jackets and Yoto Cards.”
Jon Wiltshire, commercial director for WHSmith High Street, added: “We’re delighted to be launching the Yoto Player and accessories across a select number of our high street stores. At WHSmith we are passionate about literacy and life-long learning, providing reading, writing and other educational materials to millions of customers to help making literacy fun. The launch of the Yoto Player in our stores complements our offer.”
