Yu-Gi-Oh! National Championships to begin in May

Starting in May, thousands of duelists across Europe will put their Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG skills to the test in the 2023 Yu-Gi-Oh! National Championships.

Yu-Gi-Oh! National ChampionshipsThe 2022 European Yu-Gi-Oh! National Championships saw more than 8,000 duelists compete for the title of National Champion. Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. is expecting thousands to compete again this year, as they look to secure their path towards the highly anticipated Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship, set to take place in Japan this August.

Konami has revealed its plans to hold National Championships between May and June in 21 countries across the continent. Those countries will include the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Germany and Spain.

The very best duelists will compete in person for the right to call themselves National Champions, with special prizes on offer. Confirmed prized includes exclusive Prize Cards plus travel and accommodation for the 2023 European Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship Qualifier.

Konami has also confirmed that the 2023 Yu-Gi-Oh! State Championships will take place across May and June. These tournaments will be held in up to 11 regions across Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Confirmed prizes include exclusive Prize Cards as well as travel and accommodation for the 2023 Oceanic or European Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship Qualifier, depending on their country of residence.

The news follows the recent announcement that the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship is to return in 2023. The prestigious international tournament will determine the world’s top duelists in three categories: Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links and Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel.

The Yu-Gi-Oh card game will celebrate its 25th anniversary on 4th February 2024. Today, the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG and digital titles including Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links and Yu-Gi-Oh! Master are loved by millions of fans all across the globe. To mark 25 years of duelling, Konami will launch its 25th anniversary project in 2023, including the release of commemorative products and a variety of other promotions worldwide.
