The buzz surrounding the unveiling of Boppi The Booty Shakin’ Llama has left the company excited for the year ahead.
The introduction of the new brand to Zuru’s product portfolio, an extension of its popular Robo Alive robotic creatures IP, follows the company’s recent reports of Robo Alive achieving growth figures of +200% in the UK market for the Jan-Dec 2018 period, compared to 2017 YOY.
Zuru Pets Alive offers a range of high quality interactive toys supported by creative marketing. The company has reported over 1m sales across 30 markets of the Robo Alive Lizard and Snake alone, with 50m views on over 200 organic videos on YouTube.
During the recent Toy Fair season, Boppi proved popular with attendees due to her twerking and head-spinning dance moves. Boppi dances to three catchy songs and is set to be a hit with kids and adults alike when she reaches shelves later this year.
National media coverage across various territories has highlighted initial excitement around the product, with the llama already cited as one of this year’s must-have Christmas toys.
“Zuru Pets Alive is our sister brand to Zuru Robo Alive”, explained Renee Lee, global marketing director, Zuru. “We’re really excited about bringing the range to market and experiencing the response to Boppi has certainly been a massive highlight. We’ve always believed her to be a real winner – what’s not to love? The interest we’ve received since first showcasing the range and the ensuing media coverage has highlighted the enduring appetite for affordable, innovative robotic toys – and llamas. Following the recent interest we are now looking at ways to bring Boppi’s launch forward to meet customer demand.”
Boppi, alongside the Zuru Pets Alive Magical Unicorn, will be supported by a heavy marketing campaign across digital, social, TV and influencers.
