Senior Brand Manager

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Brand Manager to join our Marketing team in Brooklands. Reporting to the Marketing Director, you will develop brand strategies for the brands within your portfolio across Europe to achieve budgeted sales and profit targets in line with business strategy, targets and company budgets.

The Role

  1. Strategic Planning – Develop brand growth plans in line with company objectives including:
  • Development of NPD pipeline and leadership of product portfolio management
  • Develop and propose brand spend levels as part of annual budget planning
  • Interacting with commercial finance to evaluate return on marketing investment
  • Proactively gather consumer and retailer insight to feed into product and brand planning
  1. Annual Brand Plan
  • Develop and implement insight driven annual brand plans in line with the company’s strategy and business objectives
  • Work closely with international teams to strategically develop their markets
  • Guardian of brand equity including positioning, pricing and promotional strategy
  • Development & implementation of UK and DE Marcoms plans
  • Support of UK and DE Sales teams, including attendance at customer previews
  • Execute line reviews to the highest standard, creating all the necessary materials to provide the EMEA sales team with all the right tools: compelling brand presentation, mock ups, samples, range plan, pricing & go-to-market Marcoms plan
  1. Lead NPD and product portfolio management including:
  • Ownership and creation of project briefs (product and packaging)
  • Accountable for P&L and capex payback targets (setting and monitoring) on new and carry forward items
  • Liaising with licensors & identifying consumer insight to identify new opportunities
  • Liaising with USA colleagues to identify product development synergies
  1. Business KPIs (commercial management):
  • Monitor brand performance including listings, NPD, rate of sale, media, instore activation and identify & deliver corrective action
  • Ownership and control of brand P&L including sales, margin, A&P, tooling and development costs across Europe including evaluation of return on investment, including responsibility for achievement of financial targets
  • Development of and performance monitoring against licensor business plans
  1. Insight
  • Plan, deliver, interpret and act upon consumer insight to develop growth opportunities for the brand

The Person

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a business based degree with a specific marketing aspect (or equivalent)
  • Have brand marketing experience with a high skill level in all aspects of the marketing mix (including NPD, ATL & promotions experience). Experience with board games is a bonus
  • Have experience of new product launches and an understanding of the product lifecycle and marketing process
  • Be a skilled communicator with a track record of building strong personal relationships with agencies & cross functional teams, influencing ability with senior stakeholders, motivating & inspiring colleagues
  • Be a proven creative problem-solver, with a high degree of numeracy
  • Have good business acumen and analytical skills
  • Have the ability to prioritise a high workload
  • Be creative in brand equity and design
  • Have fluency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Market Data Software)
  • Have the ability to drive both short and long term brand growth and profitability
  • Have proven project management experience
  • Have excellent team leadership skills
  • Have experience of working closely with global teams

Hours, Location & Salary

  • This is a full-time role (37.5 hours) based at our Brooklands office in Weybridge, Surrey
  • Tomy offers a hybrid working approach which allows employees to benefit from working at home on Mondays and Fridays. Attendance will be required in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
  • A salary of £45,000 – £49,000 depending on experience
