Over 6000 copies sold of three hit Farplace Games in two months

Published on: 14th June 2024

Farplace Games has seen strong sales of its Woof Days, Cat Days and Dino Days games, with 1,500 sold at the UK Games Expo alone.

Reflecting on the sales success of Farplace Games, Gareth Edwards, CEO and creator, said: “We are delighted by the reception the games have had at UK Games Expo and we already have enquiries about licensing the games in other countries. There is a clear demand for affordable games, and these retail at under £6, making them an easy purchase. We already have Space Days, Dungeon Days and Pirate Days in production, to expand the collection further.”

In Woof DaysCat Days and Dino Days, players are tasked with filling their week with dogs, cats or dinosaurs, and to have scored the most points once they’ve done so. Special actions can cancel out scores, swap and remove cards and more, ensuring a highly interactive game.

Each of these short, strategic card games has its own unique spin based on the running theme. In Dog Days, the German Shepherd card can be played on any day on anyone’s board, and covers over a dog, taking their score back to zero.

For Cat Days, players start with a Cat Tree that enables up to three cat cards to score on a single day, rather than the usual one. The pointer card removes a cat, and the cardboard box card steals a cat from a rival, bringing it to the player’s own board.

Dino Days players start with a Giganotosaurus card which makes it possible to wipe out an opponent’s entire board – but awards them 10 points at the same time. This gameplay increases the strategy element of the Dino Days, as each participant will be waiting for their opponent to play the Giganotosaurus before using their stronger cards.

All of the games sold benefit Farplace Animal Rescue, which produces Farplace Games. Gareth Edwards has played and collected board and card games for over 40 years, before designing this series of games.

Farplace Animal Rescue aims to help rejected animals in the UK by creating a network of no kill shelters and rescuing animals that are more difficult cases, like FIV+ cats.
