The June issue of Toy World is out now

Published on: 30th May 2024

The print version of the 156-page June issue of Toy World is now landing on desks and doormats across the country, and can also be read online as a digital edition.

The June issue of Toy World is available to read in print and online now, as the team now gets to work on the upcoming July edition of the UK’s leading trade magazine for the Toys & Games industry.

John Baulch and Rachael Simpson-Jones paid a visit to The Entertainer’s Amersham HQ to find out more about the progress of the toy specialist’s Tesco shop-in-shop rollout, going beyond the rumour and speculation of recent weeks to get to the truth with the help of Andrew Murphy, Group CEO of The Entertainer, and Geoff Sheffield, chief commercial officer.

Assistant editor Marianna Casal took a trip to Big Potato’s Shoreditch HQ to find out how the indie games company is building a legacy in its own unique way, and Carmel Giblin, CEO and president of Ethical Supply Chain Programme, explains how ESCP’s Family-Friendly Factory programme operates, its ambitions, and why the organisation is looking further than audits alone to improve labour standards in the supply chain.

Tying in beautifully with our big feature on Infant Toys, we caught up with Alexander Loehr, international category director Infant/Toddler at Ravensburger, to find out what the Play+ collection offers infants and their parents, and what’s gone into the development of this innovative new line-up. There’s also insight from Hasbro’s Tim Kilpin on how the company is putting its franchise-first approach into action by bringing its hero brands to life in innovative new ways, while Funko’s Andy Oddie tells Toy World what’s behind the growing demand for the company’s Bitty Pop! range, how the company is expanding the line-up with new solutions for collectors, and what’s on the horizon for its big sibling, Funko Pop!.

We’re also bringing readers part two of our exclusive piece celebrating the 80th anniversary of the British Toy & Hobby Association, giving readers a look behind the curtain of this beloved organisation as it celebrates eight decades of championing British toymakers and the importance of play.

On top of all this, we’ve also got category features on Wheeled Toys, Arts & Crafts, and Action Figures & Kidult Collectibles, bolstered by expert comment from a raft of industry experts as well as all the latest product information on the new launches coming through in the following months.

Popular regular contributors including Circana, Generation Media, Toy Barnhaus and Learning Express’ Rick Derr return with fresh perspectives on our ever-evolving industry, including how the UK market is faring vs. Europe, why leveraging pre-school parental mindsets can help shape marketing strategies, and what it’s like to open a toy store in the US in 2024. And Stephen Garrity, head of Sales at freight forwarder Warrant Group, advises readers on how to safely navigate the troubled waters of the shipping industry.
