Midco owner Dave Middleton has decided to reveal the list now to help those consumers who are starting their Christmas shopping early.
The Slime Party UK Tub Assortment and L.O.L. Surprise! Colour Change 2-Pack occupy first and second place on Dave Middleton’s list of top toys for Christmas
Speaking to Toy World, Midco Toys owner Dave explained that the list reflects “what we sell, which is a bit different to a lot of other retailers. Stranger Things has been massive for us all year, as have Squishmallows, Pokemon and Funko. They’re all represented on the list, as we expect them to continue to do well in the run-up to Christmas.”

Dave told Toy World he felt it wasn’t too early to release the list: “I felt it would be good to unveil the list now, to help those consumers who are starting their Christmas shopping early. There is a lot of great product out there this year.”
There are also a lot more Toymaster exclusives on the list than in the past, as Dave explains: “There are 19 exclusives in the Toymaster catalogue this year – the selection committee has seen a lot of good opportunities that haven’t necessarily been available to us in the past, and they’ve really gone for it.”
The majority of the products on the list are in the sub £30 price point, which is where Dave feels Midco and other independent toy shops are strong. The most expensive item on the list is Spin Master’s Gabby’s Doll House playset, which has been selling extremely well out of season, even at £79.99, prompting Dave to suggest “It could even turn out to be our number one best-seller this Christmas.”
