Mood Bears to launch John Lewis pop-up and hospital bear campaign

Published on: 27th October 2022

The plush company is opening the pop-up shop at John Lewis in Leicester and is appealing for sponsorship for Mood Bears for hospitals.

Mood Bears, which produces plush toys which enable children and adults to improve their understanding of thoughts and emotions, is opening a pop-up shop at John Lewis Highcross in Leicester ahead of the busy festive shopping season.

Not just a cuddly toy, the bears have been specifically designed to support mental health and wellbeing, to allow children – and adults – to express themselves when words fail them and educate children and adults, about emotions, feelings and moods.

There are eight bears in total, all made from 100% recyclable material and each representing a different feeling, emotion or mood such as Happy, Sad, Silly, Nervous, Love, Calm, Angry and Hope. Mood Bears has earned itself a range of celebrity fans including singer Peter Andre and TOWIE stars Mario Falcone and Ferne McCann.

The company behind Mood Bears is currently searching for individuals and businesses to sponsor Mood Bears which can be sent to hospitals such as the Leicester Royal Infirmary and Birmingham Children’s Hospital ahead of the Christmas season. Each sponsored bear is given to a child or adult in need, who can take it home when they are discharged.

Mood Bears director Jo Proud said: “We are delighted to open our pop-up store at John Lewis, just ahead of the festive shopping season. We know that Mood Bears can have a huge impact on the lives of children and adults who struggle to understand their emotions. It is always emotional to hear from families who are grateful for the impact that Mood Bears have had on the lives on their loved one.”

She added: “Ahead of Christmas, we are looking for corporate sponsors and individuals to visit our website and sponsor a Mood Bear for a child in need at our local hospitals throughout the Midlands. We are hoping that, despite the economic challenges which people are facing across the country, there will still be individuals who are willing to come forward and show some Christmas spirit towards those most in need during the upcoming festive season.”

The Mood Bears pop-up shop will run from 2nd to 9th November inclusive.
