Studio Retail creates new roles at Lancashire HQ

Published on: 9th February 2023

Studio Retail was bought out of administration last year by Frasers Group and has now announced 30 new roles are on offer.

Studio Retail is to create 30 jobs in a major expansion drive, the company’s first since being rescued by Mike Ashley’s Frasers Group in February 2022. The Lancashire-headquartered company is adding the new roles at its Clayton-le-Moors base.

The office houses Studio Retail’s administrative and operational functions and was recently purchased outright by the Frasers Group.

New managing director, David Twigg, said: “We are continuing to invest in our future in Hyndburn and the addition of 30 new colleagues shows we are in a period of significant growth and transformation.”

There are already over 650 colleagues working at the Studio Retail head office building, which is is major employer in the local area.

“We also have lots of other opportunities right across Studio Retail,” added David.

Head of talent, Kate Morgan, commented: “This is great news for the local area – as one of the borough’s largest employers, we will always require great staff and have lots of vacancies including the 30 new ones announced. We have a strong programme of people development, and a lovely modern working environment.”

It was reported this week that Studio Retail’s CEO had recently stepped down. However, writing on LinkedIn, CEO Paul Kendrick clarified: “This isn’t correct and I am still with Studio, working across our Retail and Financial Service divisions to drive success of the business within Frasers Group. We have purely made some changes at Companies House as part of a wider project to create greater focus on our separated Retail and Financial Services operations. It’s still business as usual.”
