Licensing stalwart Carl Lawrence seeks new opportunity

Published on: 17th February 2023

Carl recently left WWE after a nine-year stint which saw him start at manager level and depart as vice president of International.

Carl has led WWE consumer products internationally for several years, and has been particularly pro-active in the toy category through his work with Mattel, Funko, Character Options, PMI, Topps, Panini and others. He has also been instrumental in establishing strong relationships with retail partners, such as the activations he helped to put in place with Smyths Toys and The Entertainer to coincide with Clash at the Castle, WWE’s premium event in September last year.

Talking to Toy World, Carl commented: “I have never stopped learning and taking more responsibility, leaving as one of the longest ever standing WWE international employees. I’ve been privileged to work on an amazing brand with excellent talent that has a huge following and I have been delighted to be a part of many consumer product activations around the world. I’ve led business development, marketing strategies, eCommerce, retail activations, as well as physical retail stores when WWE Live events have toured Internationally.

“I’ve made many great connections and helped build a substantial business, growing royalties year over year. At almost every retailer I visit, I find WWE licensed products, of which I am immensely proud. Those that have worked with me will know that I take great pride in my work and strive to make commercial success for all parties.

“I now have a chance to spend time with my amazing family, reflect on what is right for me and I am already excited about what will come next. I would welcome any advice, support and of course any opportunities that are out there.”

Carl can be contacted via email at carllawrence@hotmail.co.uk or on 07481778446.
