Fence Club members to undertake Wall Walk

Published on: 28th February 2023

Promising that this is not an April Fool, members will take part in the walk on April 1st in the first ever exclusive Wall Member fund raising effort.

Fence Club members, Graham Canning, Kevin Jones and Andrew Laughton are joining Michael Angel and Keith Elmer in confirming they will each be walking 25km around Windsor Great Park and the surrounding area on Saturday, 1st April.

The five Wall Members will be representing the Fence Club in the first ever fund raising event exclusively undertaken by Wall Members – members of the organisation who have reached ‘veteran’ status.

The team is hoping that other members will get behind them and show their support; they are paying their own registration fees for the day and their own travelling costs, so that 100% of all donations will go to the Fence Club charity and directly benefit the children it supports.

Both members and non-members can support the intrepid walkers by visiting www.justgiving.com/fenceclub and pressing “Donate”. After going through the payment method and adding personal details, a Donation Summary will appear, where Just Giving looks to take a Platform Fee to assist with costs. The Fence Club is already charged a fee, so donors may take this request down to zero or any amount they wish.

Donors are requested to add Gift Aid where possible, as this adds 25% to each donation.

There is also the opportunity to add a message of support, whether donations are made anonymously or not. Messages should begin with “WALL WALK”.

The team has pledged to undertake the challenge come rain or shine. Graham, Kevin, Andrew, Michael and Keith said: “Huge thanks in advance for your generous support and wish us luck – we will all need it. As Joe Kissane, our Charity secretary, always reminds us – think of the children’.”
