Tomy makes debut at UK Games Expo

Published on: 2nd June 2023

Tomy will showcase new games such as The Game of Saying Huh?! at the UK Games Expo as well as give visitors the chance to break the Guinness World Record in a Screwball Scramble tournament.

Tomy has announced its participation in the UK Games Expo for the very first time. Taking place this weekend (2nd – 4th June) at the NEC in Birmingham, the company says it is ready to captivate attendees with an extensive range of games, unveiling exciting new releases to delight gamers of all ages. Visitors will also have the opportunity to prove their speed in conquering the Screwball Scramble obstacle course.

Natalie Frow, European senior brand manager at Tomy said: “We are delighted to make our debut at the UK Games Expo. The event attracts a broad spectrum of game-loving fans and it’s a great opportunity to play our games – established and new – with people who love games.”

Visitors will be challenged to put their skills to the test by taking on the Screwball Scramble Challenge, aiming to surpass the current Guinness World Record time of 20.2 seconds and claim the title of the new champion. The challenge will be held daily from 10am to 4pm, promising intense competition and rewarding those who emerge victorious. Every participant’s attempt will be recorded, and if they manage to surpass the current record time, Tomy will submit the evidence to the Guinness Book of Records for consideration.

As well as taking part in the Screwball Scramble Tournament, attendees can engage in a treasure hunt and enjoy fabulous giveaways throughout the Expo. Tomy will also provide attendees with an opportunity to sample one of its latest additions to its ever-expanding game portfolio: The Game of Saying ‘Huh?!’

This amusing party game has already proved to be a best-seller with consumers in Japan and involves players using their voices and facial expressions to convey the same phrase in different ways. Points are awarded for correct guesses and acting skills, and the player with the highest score emerges as the ultimate winner.

UK Games Expo starts today and takes place until June 4th.
