Winner of Official UK Rummikub Tournament 2023 crowned

Published on: 6th June 2023

Daisy Hodgkinson from Hertfordshire became the winner of the 5th Official UK Rummikub Tournament held at The UK Games Expo at the NEC Birmingham.

Daisy Hodgkinson competed at a sell-out Rummikub tournament at The UK Games Expo (UKGE) at the NEC Birmingham on Saturday 3rd June 2023. The annual UK Rummikub Championship Tournament saw opponents compete in three intense rounds of the family-favourite game, where each player must place all the tiles from their rack onto the table as part of a ‘run’ or ‘group’ to accumulate the highest score. The aim of the game is to be the first player to clear their rack of all their tiles and shout ‘Rummikub’. Players need to use strategy and sharp moves to outwit opponents.

Winner Daisy Hodgkinson said: “I’m a big Rummikub fan. I’ve been playing it from an early age, and I’ve grown up with it. I’m so happy to have competed in and won my first ever Rummikub Tournament at my first visit to UK Games Expo.”

John Adams Leisure hosted the tournament, which invited players up and down the UK to compete for the honour of the title, as well as £250 for the winner, £100 for the runner up and Ideal games bundles for all four finalists.

Marketing manager, Lynette Leet, commented: “Rummikub is a family classic that is well-loved all over the globe. Our annual Rummikub Tournament continues to prove incredibly popular and is a great way for UK fans to connect as a community playing their favourite tabletop game.”

Rummikub has all the elements of a great game: easy to learn and fast moving, it combines luck and strategy and changes all the time, so every player has a chance to win until the last minute.
