Sales of Heroes of Goo Jit Zu Goo Mobiles exceed expectations

Published on: 26th July 2023

Heavyweight marketing, TV and digital support, together with influencer reviews and YouTuber skits have resulted in incremental growth for the Heroes of Goo Jit Zu brand.

Just weeks after launch in late June, Character Options has reported that new Heroes of Goo Jit Zu Goo Mobiles are driving very strong sales.

Heroes of Goo Jit Zu Goo Mobiles are shape shifting rides made to collide; Character says these stretchable, squishable cars move like nothing else. Offering an “all-goo” way to enjoy action vehicle play, they can be stetched, smashed, twisted and fixed to start again. Each Goo Mobile is based on a favourite Goo Jit Zu character and measures 4.5-inches long – but double that when stretched.

At launch, Character’s marketing wheels started rolling with TV and heavyweight digital support, together with parental influencer reviews and YouTuber skits. The result has exceeded expectations, with sales driving incremental growth for the brand outside of the established core and licensed programme.

Mark Hunt, Marketing director, Character Options, said: “The brand is now in its fifth year, with the Goo Mobiles simultaneously launching alongside Deep Goo Sea and King Hydra which have also started exceptionally well. Goo mobiles widens the reach of the brand, introducing tactile vehicle play to an even younger audience, assuring natural progression into the core action figure collection.”

The success of the overall range was highlighted as a major contribution to Character’s success in its most recent set of financial results, supported by the group’s other lines, including Lanky Box and Aphmau. The company is now also seeing strong demand for its newly launched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line.
