Capitals across Europe discover Christmas Furbtrees

Published on: 19th December 2023

Furby-themed Christmas trees, known as ‘Furbtrees’, have appeared across European cities including London, Paris and Berlin.

Alongside the traditional evergreen fir trees decorating their cities, major capitals across Europe have also played host to fun and quirky Furby-themed Christmas trees, which have been labeled as ‘Furbtrees’.

Residents and tourists alike have enjoyed seeing the iconic 90s creatures make a festive comebackon social media, with videos and images featuring a Furby-filled Christmas tree flooding platforms including Instagram and TikTok over the weekend.

The activation has seen prominent landmarks including London’s Regent Street, Paris’s Boulevard Haussmann (Place Diaghilev) and Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate transformed into captivating displays of Furby-adorned Furbtrees. Each tree boasts dozens of blinking Furbies and a bright neon pink, ear-flapping Furblet on top to complete the mesmerising festive decoration.

As the Christmas season approaches, Furby is set to top the wish lists of children around the world, marking a successful return to the spotlight for the 90s cultural icon since its relaunch earlier this year.

Julia Swan, Regional Communications manager at Hasbro, commented: “Furby is taking over the streets and capitals of major cities this Christmas, with giant Furbtrees hijacking iconic trees across key markets to replace them with Furbies (and Furblets) stacked together to create a giant tree, topped with a Furblet in-place of a star.”
