Toy World’s Eco-Friendly & Sustainable feature – get involved!

Published on: 2nd January 2024

The February issue of Toy World will include a special feature focused on Eco-Friendly & Sustainable, with companies offering such ranges invited to get involved.

As we’re all aware, shifting mindsets surrounding consumerism and the environmental impacts of our day-to-day choices mean shoppers are increasingly keen to spend their money on toys and games that are kind to the environment. Recent years have witnessed a shift away from single use plastics and virgin materials towards packaging and products that offer all the same play value – and, crucially, the same level of safety – while slashing their carbon footprint, plastic footprint and/or shipping footprint. The toy industry continues to push forwards in its efforts to become greener, and is all the better for it.

That’s why, for the past few years, Toy World has run a dedicated feature on Eco-Friendly & Sustainable Toys in its February issue. This feature gives toy and games companies the chance to shout about the ways they’re reducing their environmental impact while also providing the very best products today’s kids want.

Have you redesigned your packaging to save tonnes of plastic waste going to landfill? Have you switched to renewable or FSC-Certified wood, cardboard and paper products? Have you brought your manufacturing closer to the UK cut shipping emissions or gone from virgin to recycled PET? Or is your company moving to an eco-friendly warehouse or supporting environmental initiatives?

If so, this is the feature for you. We want to help toy companies spread the word about all the efforts they’re making to preserve the planet for today’s kids. If you have a toy range or eco-friendly initiative you think should be featured in this issue, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and find out how we can work together.

The deadlines for the February issue are:

  • January 4th – editorial
  • January 16th – ads
