UPDATE: Train drivers across Germany have now ended their strike early, in time for the start of the working week, and indeed Spielwarenmesse.

The Spielwarenmesse organisers therefore recommend looking for alternatives in good time and to switch to other means of transport such as buses, hire cars or taxis.

As a free service, the organisers offer buses from the major airports in Munich and Frankfurt/Main to take visitors and exhibitors to the exhibition grounds in Nuremberg:

Sunday, 28 January

12 pm Frankfurt Airport – Nuremberg Exhibition Center

4 pm Frankfurt Airport – Nuremberg Exhibition Center

Monday, 29 January

12 pm Frankfurt Airport – Nuremberg Exhibition Center

4 pm Frankfurt Airport – Nuremberg Exhibition Center

To use this free service, make a reservation here by Thursday, 25th January, at 10 am (CET). Details of the departure point at the airports will subsequently be sent to everyone who makes a reservation via this link.

The strike has no effect on VGN, which runs public transport in the greater Nuremberg area – subways and buses are in operation.

Despite these circumstances, Spiewarenmesse wishes everyone a pleasant journey.
