Kerry Walgrove introduces 1721 Coaching

Published on: 12th February 2024

Following redundancy from the Lego Group in 2021, Kerry Walgrove has set up a new coaching service to help support and add value to companies.

Kerry has started her own business, 1721 Coaching, through which she coaches, trains and mentors both individuals and teams, using science-based tools, techniques, training sessions and 1-21- sessions. Having worked in the toy Industry for over 21 years, she is well placed to understand the challenges teams and individuals are facing as they navigate busy lives and fast paced working environments.

“Leaving the Lego Group after a total of 13 years was tough,” Kerry told Toy World, “but it presented an opportunity to appraise what I really wanted to do next. When it came down to it, it was simple, my purpose is people. Happy people doing great business is the best equation for me.”

Kerry took the decision to invest in herself and has now become an ICF accredited coach, offering a route for businesses to support and add value to their teams via coaching.

She added: “Research shows that 65% of staff in companies where coaching is valued are highly engaged, which brings with it numerous benefits, including performance improvements, increased employee retention, enhanced resilience and agility.”

Kerry is currently in the process of writing bespoke team workshops, and invites Toy World readers to get in touch if they think their company could benefit from her assistance. “If there is something in your organisation, or for yourself, that needs addressing, why not reach out to me to discuss in more detail?” she added. “I would love to help you bring some of these benefits to your teams.”

For those wondering about the name, Kerry explained that 1721 actually represents the date 1/7/21, the day after she left the Lego Group and began to follow her own dreams.
