The Mystery Agency launches The Man From Sector Six

Published on: 21st March 2024

The Man From Sector Six game, which has been created by Olivier award-winning writer and director Henry Lewis, brings players a further escape room experience at home.

As with the previous puzzles in The Mystery Agency’s award-winning escape room range, The Man From Sector Six includes real padlocks and numerous intriguing real objects and documents to be investigated to solve this case. The game has been created by Henry Lewis, the Olivier Awards award-winning writer, director and star of internationally acclaimed The Play That Goes Wrong, and host of ITV’s Riddiculous quiz show.

The brand new title is being launched simultaneously for the first time in the UK and the US, and shipping worldwide.

The game features a locked document portfolio and a torn newspaper cutting. The first job is simply to crack the outside padlock code just to begin. Players learn from the newspaper report how the folder was discovered at a top-secret US spy facility.

This scenario sets the stage for an immersive escape room challenge to play at home. Padlocks and other real-world objects serve as clues and puzzles. These include a cast metal rotating cipher wheel and a computer circuit board to ensure an authentic and engaging home escape room experience.

Standing in the way of solving the mystery are multiple brainteasers to put the cryptic, visual and other problem-solving skills of table-top detectives to the test. They will also need to uncover and hack into a hidden website to uncover pivotal secrets.

Creator Henry Lewis, said: “I could not be more excited for the release of our brand new mystery The Man from Sector Six. The story is so much fun and it is packed full of amazing and original puzzles.”

Henry worked closely with graphic designer and board game fan Rebecca Pitt to ensure the visual aspect of the props look decidedly real. Rebecca said, “As a keen board game player it’s been a pleasure to bring Henry’s exciting story and mind-bending puzzles to life with intricate designs. The authenticity and detail in the designs is one of the things that makes The Mystery Agency so unique.”

The Man From Sector Six involves one to six players aged 12 years to adult and it normally takes about two hours to solve. If needed, hints for each puzzle are available online; to avoid spoilers, these are carefully graded from little ‘nudges’ through to revealing the full answer. Nothing needs to be broken or damaged during play, making it fully resettable. Once solved, full instructions are provided to show players exactly how to do this.
