Cobi announced as headline sponsor for Norfolk Tank Museum’s Armourfest 2024

Published on: 16th February 2024

Armourfest and Cobi, manufacturer of military construction models, are a perfect fit for each other, with the company now sponsoring the summer event.

Cobi UK has announced that it is the headline sponsor for Armourfest 2024, which is taking place at Norfolk Tank Museum on August 17th and 18th.

Armourfest – Norfolk Tank Museum’s premiere annual show – has been running since 2012 and invites visitors to see museum- and privately-owned military vehicles showcased in a custom-built arena. Norfolk Tank Museum was started as a private collection by curator Stephen Machaye in 2011 but since then it has grown, now housing more than 22 show condition vehicles including the TV star Deborah 2, which was built by The Norfolk Tank Museum in conjunction with Channel 4.

Toy manufacturer Cobi is based in southern Poland, in the city of Mielec, and is known globally for creating some of the most unique and detailed scaled brick models on the market, with historical accuracy and design enhancing their demand among kids and collectors alike. For over 25 years, Cobi has been producing construction bricks predominately focused on military vehicles including tanks, planes, ships and other vehicles from WWI & WWII, to modern day military in its Armed Forces range.

Lee Crocker, UK country manager, said: “Cooperation with museums is a very important to us. On the one hand it’s a stamp of approval in terms of the historical accuracy of Cobi’s military brick models, and on the other hand, our association helps maintain historical vehicles, ensuring they survive into our times. We are very pleased to be associated with Norfolk Tank Museum.”

Stephen MacHaye, curator and chairman of Norfolk Tank Museum, added: “We see working with Cobi as a fantastic opportunity. Its range of military models are technically accurate and beautifully made, fit well with our focus on retaining history, engineering and education, and inspire people to learn more about our past. Visitors can enjoy the museum and see a real-life tank, then go home with one of their own.”

Norfolk Tank Museum is a Registered Charity (no. 1180612). Armourfest 2024 will be taking place on August 17th and 18th.
