Licensing Awards winners revealed

This year’s recipients were given their trophies at last night’s event in London, attended by around 1,200 people.

The winners of this year’s Licensing Awards were unveiled at last night’s event, which saw around 1,200 industry people from the licensing community head to the Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Park Lane.

In addition to the award presentations, the members of The Light Fund English Channel Relay Swim team were thanked for their incredible efforts in raising £268,000, meaning the licensing industry charity has now raised over £2m for charities since its inception in 2004. In further recognition of his support of The Light Fund over many years, industry stalwart Stephen Gould received the Honorary Achievement Award to round off the evening.

The winners of The Licensing Awards 2022 of interest to the toy community (about half the total number of awards presented on the night…) were as follows:

  • UK Rising Star – Jessica Dodd, Hasbro
  • Best Retailer of Pre-School licensed products – Asda
  • Best Retailer of Kids’ licensed products – Smyths Toys
  • Best Retailer of Adult licensed products – HMV
  • Best Overseas Retailer of licensed products – Aldi
  • Best Licensed Toy / Game range – Bluey Play-sets from Moose Toys
  • Best Licensed Dress-Up / Partyware – Baby Shark Party, Balloon and Costume Range from Amscan International
  • Best Licensed Written. Listening or Learning range – Lego Duplo Audio Cards from Yoto
  • The Innovation Award – Thomas and Friends Sensory Friendly Range from Character.com
  • Best Pre-School property – Bluey
  • Best Children’s or Tween property – Wizarding World
  • Best Teen / Adult property – Stranger Things
  • Best Gaming property – Pokémon
  • Best Film property – Encanto
  • Classic Property Award – Paddington
  • What Kids Love Award – Minecraft
  • Honorary Achievement Award – Stephen Gould
