Hamleys reveals Top 10 Toys for Christmas

Published on: 21st September 2023

The Hamleys buying team has analysed the current toy trends for the year ahead, placing particular importance on ‘out with the old, and in with the new’.

Hamleys has today unveiled its highly anticipated Top 10 Toys for Christmas. Meticulously curated by a team of toy experts at the UK’s oldest and most trusted toy retailer, the list includes the newest, most sought-after toys that Hamleys buyers predict will become an absolute must have this festive season.

Victoria Kay, head of Buying at Hamleys, commented: “This Christmas at Hamleys, we have handpicked a Top 10 list featuring the finest new toys for the festive season. We’ve gone the extra mile to ensure that our selection consists of top-of-the-line toys, all recently launched and guaranteed to be a hit with kids of all ages. We’ve closely observed the trends shaping the toy industry, including toys inspired by beloved on-screen characters and the continued Kidult trend. We’re confident that our choices embody the very essence of Christmas and offer everyone the opportunity to discover their new favourite toy.”

Hamleys’ tradition of bringing joy to Christmas wish lists continues with the Top 10, which starts from just £18. The list includes Hamleys’ predicted best-seller, L.O.L. Surprise! Magic Flyers, a new, innovative take on the ever-popular L.O.L. doll, closely followed by Barbie, whose enduring appeal is a testament to her iconic, timeless popularity.

The list features picks for early years play, with the Disney Winnie and Piglet’s treehouse, and a classic Hamley Bear with a Harry Potter twist. Twister Air, meanwhile, offers endless hours of fun with a fresh, digital take on a popular family game suitable for all age groups.

The expert buying team has also chosen the Barbie Fruit Crush series, tapping into the success of this year’s biggest blockbuster and the popular unboxing trend, and says that Beast Lab will have kids creating and playing for hours with its easy to use and innovative interactive play pattern. For fans of Marvel, there’s the soft and squishy Ty Squish-A-Boos, while the Hamleys Wooden Bus will be a new keepsake for years to come.

Victoria added: “Given the ongoing challenges, we recognise the importance of providing parents with a range of pricing options, allowing them the flexibility to plan and purchase thoughtfully. We have also diversified our toy selection to create an additional pull-out list of Top 3 toys that collector parents or Kidults would enjoy. What’s not on the list, but is very much a coveted Christmas gift, is a day at Hamleys. With our magical in-store experiences, Elfie selfies and a chance to meet favourite characters offered complimentary to all visitors, a visit to Hamleys truly captures the warmth of Christmas season and crafts memories that last for a lifetime.”
