Chicken Vs Hotdog and Dominic Yard hit the road in America

Published on: 29th August 2023

Big Potato’s Chicken Vs Hotdog was played live on air, as the game toured the US to celebrate major US listings and a TOTY nomination.

Chicken Vs Hotdog, the flip-it-and-stick-it party game created by Big Potato Games and award-winning inventor Dominic Yard, has completed a whistlestop tour of the US. Local news anchors, from Houston to Seattle, went head-to-head with some Chicken Vs Hotdog challenges live on air, to celebrate the game’s launch in Target and Walmart.

Dominic is the inventing force behind This is Yard, an award-winning inventor who creates innovative and exciting new concepts for kids of all ages. Over the years, he has licensed ideas to companies including Mattel, Fisher Price, Spin Master, Big Potato, Fat Brain Toys (and loads more).

Becky McKinlay, head of Global Marketing at Big Potato Games said: “We’re so chuffed to see Chicken Vs Hotdog receive recognition in the States. The game was inspired by the bottle-flipping trend, and it’s been in the works for quite a few years. It’s a very silly game, but there’s something so satisfying (and addictive) when you manage to land one of the characters with an audible “slap” on the table. The game was one of our most successful new launches in the UK last year, and we hope it follows suit in the US.”

Meanwhile, Chicken Vs Hotdog has been selected as a finalist in the US Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards 2023. Placed in the Grown-Up Toy of the Year category, each finalist was selected by an independent panel of play experts, journalists, academics, retailers, and other toy experts, from a pool of hundreds of nominations.
