Funko kicks off Toy Fair with celebrity guest

Published on: 22nd January 2024

Funko will be returning to Toy Fair with an appearance from UK comedian Michael McIntyre, a dog show and a host of new product.

Funko Europe will be attending the 2024 London Toy Fair to showcase an array of new products across its popular Pop! and Bitty Pop! brands, a newly launched pet line from fashion accessories brand Loungefly and high-end collectibles line, Mondo, expanding further into Europe this year.

The Funko team will be kicking off the event on Tuesday with a must-see dog show on its stand at 11.30am. The pups will be modelling accessories for 2024 across the new pet range from Loungefly. Launching in December last year, the pet accessories line gives fans even more ways to express their fandom, whether they’re a casual fan or a dedicated collector. From harnesses and leads to treat bags and collars, the range has everything fans need to extend their love of the brand to their furry friends.

The dog show will be followed by a guest appearance from A-list comedian Michael McIntyre, as he reveals his brand-new exclusive Funko Pop! to consumers in person, and talks about his worldwide tour due to take place this year. Michael’s brand-new Funko Pop! figure is the first time a UK comedian has been immortalised in this way. Funko fans are currently able to sign up for pre-order of the limited-edition Funko Pop! online.

Ahead of his appearance at London Toy Fair, Michael McIntyre said: “I’m very excited to be a Funko Pop! I can’t wait to see it at the London Toy Fair and present it to the world for the first time.”

Funko Europe will also be giving attendees the chance to see a range of premium collectibles from Mondo, ahead of launching widespread across EMEA and with select retail partners in the second half of this year. The highly detailed collectible figurines feature intricate articulation and carefully crafted accessories. Available to see at the stand are He-Man, the new Skeletor, unreleased Gambit figure, Harley Quinn and Sabretooth, amongst many more.

Funko chief commercial officer, Andy Oddie, said: “We’re thrilled to be returning to London Toy Fair. We’re looking forward to seeing all our industry friends and to showcase what’s to come for the brand this year. Funko has so many exciting innovations in store across the brand’s Bitty Pop!, Funko Pop!, Loungefly and Mondo lines, and we’re excited to be bringing out products that continue to inspire and engage with loyal fans across the world.”
