The Natural History Museum’s licensing partnership with Galt Toys will commence with the release of the Let’s Learn range, launching spring/summer 2024.

The Natural History Museum (NHM) has announced an exciting licensing collaboration with James Galt & Co. Ltd (Galt Toys), part of Jumbo Group. The museum is working with Galt Toys to develop a new range of learning and activity kits, inspired by the amazing natural world.

Due to launch in spring/summer 2024, the Let’s Learn range will combine captivating illustrations alongside a breadth of natural history to engage younger children in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) learning. The series will immerse children in the wonderful worlds of science and natural history through fun and enriching activities, with the first range of kits themed around Dinosaurs and Tiny Creatures.

A natural pairing for the companies, both brands have played significant roles in nurturing and educating curious minds for generations. The Natural History Museum – which opened its doors in 1881 – welcomes over 150,000 students each year while Galt Toys has been inspiring learning through play for over 60 years with fun, colourful and imaginative products that support crucial stages of childhood development.

Galt Toys worked closely with the museum’s vast network of scientists, experts and educators to create scientifically accurate hybrid products, integrating both brands’ expertise. The result is a visually and mentally stimulating range that showcases the familiar Galt creative style and quality, alongside the museum’s insight as a world-renowned authority on the natural world.

Sustainability has been prioritised throughout the development process, an area of consideration vital to both brands. Every detail of the process was carefully evaluated, from utilising recycled and recyclable materials to repurposing packaging for additional activity.

Emma Russell, senior Licensing manager at the Natural History Museum, said: “We’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with the team at Galt Toys to bring this exciting new range to life. From our very first conversation, it was apparent we held similar values and were both equally passionate about creating opportunities for children to immerse themselves in the science and study of the natural world.”

Jacqueline Taylor-Foo, general manager at James Galt & Co. Ltd, part of Jumbo Group, added: “Partnering with a brand such as the Natural History Museum has been a brilliant opportunity for Galt Toys. Our heritage in designing educational toys paired with the scientific expertise of the Natural History Museum team, has resulted in a wonderful new collection which is sure to deliver on its STEAM promise.”

She continued: “The Let’s Learn range of educational kits launches next spring. Each kit provides a total of six projects designed to help develop vital skills for future scientists, all encased in vibrant, engaging packaging which has been created from sustainably sourced, FSC certified materials. As with all our toys, there’s incredible play value inside each box which will encourage the consumer to come back for more.”
