Ravensburger launches Play+ at Toy Fair with Dr Zoe Williams

Published on: 24th January 2024

TV’s Dr Zoe Williams visited London Toy Fair to launch Play+ line from Ravensburger.

On the opening day of Toy Fair, Ravensburger was joined by Dr Zoe Williams to give visitors a first look at Play+, a new infant & toddler toy and book collection set to launch in the UK and Republic of Ireland in September. The range comprises over thirty items and is suitable for children from 0 to 36 months.

The Play+ brand campaign message, “It all starts with play”, celebrates the importance of play in early years development and each item in the collection has been extensively researched to foster the natural curiosity in young children that can lead to big discoveries. The development of the collection is the consolidation of more than a hundred years of expertise from Ravensburger, research among parents and consultations with experts in a variety of fields. Play+ offers fun while introducing developmental opportunities and practical features that parents called for during research.

Dr Zoe Williams, who makes regular appearances as a resident GP on ITV’s This Morning and is parent to two-year-old son, Lisbon, attended Toy Fair to support the launch of the range.

“The early years are bursting with discoveries for little ones, almost every moment of every day. Play is the key way that children begin to develop so many of the vital skills they’ll need growing up, and the Play+ collection is packed with engaging details that will not only keep them giggling and having fun, but all the while, they’ll also be taking steps towards developmental milestones,” said Zoe. “I love the combination of toys and books in the one collection, giving so many opportunities to enjoy time together, and the practical features like tear-proof, chewable pages in the books or easy-clean fabrics and multi-functionality in the toys are a real plus for parents.”

Long established as a leading children’s board book publisher in Germany, Play+ brings the first Ravensburger book offering to be available in the UK and Republic of Ireland. Toyetic touches such as rattles, sliders and pop-its create an engaging and interactive experience, providing a natural and complementary fit alongside the toys.

Katy Fletcher, Ravensburger UK’s head of Marketing and Product Development said: “We have received a great response to our new Play+ range today. We have loved having Dr Zoe Williams on board to support our launch campaign for the brand, and there is lots more to come throughout the year.”

The Play+ lineup features playful animal themes throughout, showcasing characters from the savanna and jungle, and prices range from £6.99 to £49.99 RRP.

Among the items in the Play+ collection:

  • 4-in-1 Colour & Shape Sorter Chameleon: Reinventing the classic shape sorter, this activity toy fosters early developmental milestones through playful learning and discovery. It offers three game modes, plays jungle-themed tunes and has colourful light effects, music and songs.
  • Push & Listen Roly Poly Capybara: The capybara rocks with lights and sounds, encouraging movement and playful interaction. There’s also a silent mode for quiet play too.
  • 3-in-1 Stacking Cups Bird’s Nest: Made with soft 100% food-grade silicon for easy grasping, chewing and stacking, the colourful cups are waterproof and washable for anytime, anywhere fun.
