This Morning reveals its Top Toys for Christmas 2023

Published on: 2nd November 2023

With prices starting from just £6.99 RRP, the This Morning list offers something for everyone and spans traditional toy categories such as Plush through to tech and role-play.

ITV’s This Morning has revealed its Top Toys for Christmas 2023 during a morning segment many consider to be one of the top accolades at this time of year.

Presenter Alice Beer gave viewers (and show hosts Rylan Clarke and Josie Gibson) a rundown of her picks and why they made the grade, explaining that this year, she’d leaned into more affordable toys suitable for those watching the pennies. She said: “Money is tight, so you really want to make sure you get the ultimate toy underneath the tree that is educational and fun, with an element of surprise – and they’re going to love it.”

This Morning’s Top Toys for Christmas 2023 are:

  • Sesame Street Elmo Slide Plush – Just Play
  • Biggies Super-Size Inflatable Mega Plush – Click Distribution (Eolo Toys)
  • Brio Builder Power Screwdriver – Ravensburger
  • Everybody 1-2-Switch – Nintendo
  • Edurino Starter Set – Edurino
  • Barbie Pop Reveal Fruit Series – Mattel
  • Bitzee – Spin Master
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizza Delivery Van – Character Options
  • Little Live Pets Dog House – Moose Toys
  • Plus-Plus Tubes – Plus-Plus

Just Play’s Elmo Slide Plush kicked things off by sliding his way into Rylan Clarke’s heart. The TV personality joined in with the Elmo Slide dance while conversing with Elmo in Spanish. He then jokingly declared: “I’m sorted for Christmas”.

Edurino, a new arrival on the toy scene, is a digital learning system consisting of a series of playful learning games providing meaningful screen time for children aged four and over. Children are given the power to unlock a world of learning with the colourful Edurino character figurines which bridge the digital and physical worlds and allow children to immerse themselves in exciting and interactive learning.

Commenting following Edurino’s appearance on This Morning, Irene Klemm, founder of Edurino, said: “Launching Edurino in the UK, after our success in Germany having sold over 200,000 products is more than an expansion to us. It’s a commitment to nurture more young minds through the seamless blend of play and education across borders.”

Rylan and Josie continued getting hands on with the toys throughout the segment, dipping their Pop Reveal Barbies in warm water to reveal their colour change hair and interacting with Bitzee – the digital pet kids can touch – as Alice explained the toys’ many features.

Richard Dickson, general manager at Spin Master UK & ROI, said: “We’re delighted to have been included in This Morning’s top toys for Christmas list. The reaction to Bitzee has been phenomenal, not only from parents and kids, but retailers too, with many including Bitzee in their own top toys for Christmas lists. We’re sure that Bitzee is going to be high on many children’s wish lists this year, but remember – Bitzee is for life, not just for Christmas.”
