Each card in the pack features a different game or play idea to enjoy across four different categories.
London Play, a small charity that promotes children’s right to play, campaigns for improved out-of-school play services for London’s 1.8m children, and supports play providers in the capital, has announced the launch of Play 52, a deck of cards with a unique twist.
Each of the 52 cards in the pack features a unique playful idea or game for children 11 and under, with each suit representing a different type of play – 13 ideas for messy and noisy play; 13 for outdoor games; 13 for indoors and 13 for small spaces, queues and cars. All the suggested games are playable using nothing more than a few simple props from around the house.
Beautifully drawn by the artist Chrissy Baxter, and meticulously designed by Emily Hammond, Play 52 has been printed by the card printing specialist Cartamundi. Around 2,000 packs have already been road tested by kids during the height of the coronavirus lockdown, and the second edition Winter Play 52 pack is currently being printed.
Each pack retails at £4.99, and all profits from Play 52 will go to London Play. To place an order, contact Catherine Togut – catherine@londonplay.org.uk.
