The new shop-in-shop installations will bring WHSmith’s total Toys R Us concessions to 39 by the end of the retailer’s financial year.
WHSmith has announced the opening of 30 more Toys R Us shop-in-shops by the end of its financial year in August.
WHSmith opened nine Toys R Us concessions in 2023, which according to the retailer have performed well to date. These are located in York (Monks Cross Retail Park), Canterbury (St George Street), Chelmsford (High Street), Cheltenham (High Street), Cwmbran (The Mall), Oxford (Cornmarket Street), Poole (Towngate Shopping Centre), Reading (Broad Street) and Solihull (Mell Square).
The locations of the 30 new concessions have not yet been disclosed.
The partnership between the two retailers was borne off the back of 2022’s launch of Toys R Us UK’s digital flagship ecommerce website www.toysrus.co.uk – though rumours suggest this may close imminently.
Customers visiting WHSmith’s Toys R Us concession stores can discover and play across dedicated sections by age, interest and category, with interactive experiences, demonstration tables and iconic visual elements throughout.
Each Toys R Us shop-in-shop will feature a key range of products and activities from top toy brands including Barbie, Bluey, Fisher Price, Hot Wheels, Lego, Marvel, Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig, Playmobil, Star Wars and more.
