Those Licensing People secures rights to The Little Prince

Published on: 4th June 2019

The Little Prince, known as Le Petit Prince in its original first language, is one of France’s most famed children’s titles.

Since it was first published in the USA back in the mid 1940s when its author, the French aristocrat Antoine de Saint Exupery was exiled, The Little Prince has never been out of print. Translated into more than 300 languages and dialects, with more than 200m books in circulation, this global brand has had millions of views on all the largest social and broadcast platforms including Facebook, Netflix and YouTube, currently has more than 160 world-wide licensees and is supported by two theme parks and two museums.

TLP has been appointed by the brand’s French owner Sogex, the family successor to Antoine. TLP will represent The Little Prince across all markets in the UK for an initial period of two years and will be widening the market by establishing a direct-to-consumer channel to deliver high quality gift product and apparel, as well as stationery. Furthermore, TLP will introduce The Little Prince into its KidsCast portfolio, developing a game based on the flight of the Little Prince in his Bi-Plane.

Russell Dever, MD of Those Licensing People, said: “I am truly delighted to have secured an agreement to represent one of the world’s most endearing and enduring classic brands. With a roster of global licensees that most brands can only dream of, the TLP team and I are so excited to engage with new audiences and re-ignite this much-loved property across the UK in the coming months. The Little Prince really will have his day again very soon in the UK.”
