Meccano continues to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers at The Big Bang UK Fair this week.

The largest celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) for young people in the UK, the Big Bang Fair, kicks off today.

Continuing to infuse innovation into its 2018 line by incorporating new materials and advanced technologies in its building sets, Meccano will be showcasing its new products to attendees bringing key STEM themes and skills to life.

Suitable for all ages, visitors can enjoy hands on play and free building with Meccano construction kits including both junior and metal Meccano, creating real working models and taking part in building challenges. They will also have the chance to win a MeccaSpider each day of the show, as well as the chance to win a M.A.X Robot for their school.

Taking place at the NEC, Birmingham, the Big Bang Fair is an award-winning combination of exciting theatre shows, interactive workshops and exhibits, and careers information from STEM professionals. This year’s show is expected to attract upwards of the 70,000+ who attended in 2017.

Becca Hanlon, brand manager UK for Meccano, commented: “The Big Bang Show offers a fantastic opportunity for us to engage with students and young people who are interested and engaged with STEM-based toys. Through the show we hope to excite, captivate and inspire the future generations of scientists and engineers and we’re looking forward to meeting many youngsters who will join in the fun we have planned.”
