Schleich launches augmented reality Red Rabbit campaign

Published on: 27th February 2020

This year’s event launches on 1st March and will run until 13th April.

Schleich UK’s latest retail initiative will unleash a warren of virtual Red Rabbits across participating retailers in the UK and Ireland.

The Easter campaign will be activated globally and is a digital upgrade from the successful 2019 Red Rabbit Campaign. This year’s event launches on 1st March and will run until 13th April. The aim is for customers to bring to life and photograph a virtual bright red rabbit figure as a part of a social media picture competition. 20 surprise package prizes worth a total of £1,000 are up for grabs for winners with the funniest or most inventive photos.

To take part, customers simply scan a QR code found on the Red Rabbit communication in-store and download the Schleich Snap App. Once downloaded, the app can be used to seek out the red rabbit on the POS and activate, interact and take a picture of it before it runs away. By sharing their picture on social media through the app, they automatically enter into the draw to win prizes.

Paul Dearlove, trade marketing manager said: “The Easter Red Rabbit campaign ran in 2018 and 2019 and was a great success, so we are delighted to bring this fun activity back but in a virtual manner. This is just the first of many initiatives we have across retail this year which will echo the major uplift in marketing support we are giving our customers in 2020.”
